子宮頸がんワクチン

 

他のがんと違い、子宮頸がんはその原因が解明されているがんで、それゆえに予防が可能な病気です。

子宮頸がんの原因は、ほぼ100％がヒトパピローマウイルス（HPV）というウイルスの感染です。多くの場合、性交渉によって感染すると考えられていて、発がん性HPVは、すべての女性の約80％が一生に一度は感染していると報告があるほどとてもありふれたウイルス。このため、性行動のあるすべての女性が子宮頸がんになる可能性を持っています。

 

子宮頸がん予防ワクチンは、子宮頸がんの原因となりやすいHPV 16型とHPV 18型のウイルスに対する免疫をつくらせるものです。

 

ワクチンの接種対象は10歳以上の女性です。このワクチンは半年間の間に3回（1回目、2回目：1カ月後、3回目：6カ月後）、腕の筋肉に注射します。

Human papillomavirus bivalent (types 16 and 18) vaccine (Cervarix)

For the prevention of cervical pre-cancers and cervical cancer associated with oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18 for use in girls and young women

Cervarix is administered to young women over the ages of 10 in a three dose schedule that should be completed within six months of the initial dose.

 

To date, Cervarix has been approved in 100 countries around the world, including the 27 member states of the European Union (EU), Australia, Brazil, South Korea, Mexico and Taiwan.

Cervarix is not recommended for use in pregnant women
